THE BEHEADING OF THE HOLY GLORIOUS PROPHET, FORERUNNER, AND BAPTIST, JOHN The Divine Liturgy will be served at 10 am on 29th August in the Chapel of York St John University
Metropolitan John has recently given a very insightful talk on the current state of Christians in the Middle East. To get a copy use the link on our News page.
THE COMMUNITY The Community of St. Constantine the Great meets at the Chapel of York St. John University. Occasionally, when the Chapel is in use for another purpose we meet elsewhere on the campus. A notice is then posted on the door of the Chapel For a map of the university campus go the university website here You can find the current schedule of our services here The Community produces a monthly calendar which lists the major saints commemorated on each day, including those for the British Isles, details of the appointed readings for the day and a note on the fasting rules. Click here to view the calendar. The Chaplaincy is supported by many Orthodox people from near and far. All are welcome. It is good to have firm foundations beneath an otherwise passing student population. The liturgical language in use is English. All enquirers too are welcome to join us at the Divine Liturgy, and make themselves known to us. A university campus is just the place to enquire about things. We look forward to meeting you! Clergy: Fr. Æthelwine is a priest of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch. He and Mother Susanna are much travelled in the Middle East, where our Patriarch, His Beatitude Ignatios IV, has his Patriarchate in Damascus. Reverend Deacon Michael and Reverend Deacon Peter, both members of the Patriarchate of Antioch, were ordained in 2008 by His Excellency Metropolitan Kallistos of Diocleia by permission of our Patriarch, His Beatitude Ignatios IV of Antioch and All the East, and His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain.
